Well, I was adding "The Wrestler" to my Netflix queue when I came across this;
What can I say? Mathis Brothers, Buck Owens and Me
So, I just learned that a few of my songs are going to be used in a movie. There's also going to be a soundtrack released. Pretty fun. It is one of those struggling, independent releases, a romantic comedy. It must be a tragic romantic comedy to use four or five of my tunes. They are in the final editing stages now and hope for an April release. I will post more info and a trailer when it becomes available. They are trying to get showings in all 50 states including, hopefully, here in Austin. Be prepared, I will require everyone to pack the house.
Thinking about movies led to me thinking about "Act Naturally" of course. Here's some trivia; the Mathis Brother's Furniture Store in Oklahoma City used to sponsor a local Buck Owens Show way back in the 60's. They would even occasionally force themselves into the show and play a few tunes. Of course, pieces of that show are finally showing up on Youtube as with every other recorded event in the last 70 years. So, I present... Buck Owens playing The Buckaroo Theme and Act Naturally live on The Mathis Brothers Furniture Show! A Second Life
The good news is that when you die you are allowed to revisit your life to point out everything that you would have done differently. You are then allowed a second life to live all of the new choices.
The bad news is that this is the second life.
